At a recent ACI-organised meeting in Seven Oaks Hotel Carlow, ACI representatives from the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin and adjacent dioceses met with Bishop Denis Nulty.

The bishop and the ACI representatives welcomed the opportunity to share concerns and hopes at this important time in the Church’s mission.  Various areas of concern  were discussed and solutions and response strategies considered.

The meeting  acknowledged  Bishop Denis’s ongoing commitment to the mission of Our Lord Jesus Christ as proclaimed by Pope Francis in his inspiring and challenging pontificate. The meeting  encouraged Bishop Denis  in his plans  to  give all in the Diocese  an opportunity to  have meaningful feedback over the next six weeks on the preparatory document for the full Synod on the family of next October.

The outcome of the Synod will have long-lasting influence on many areas of the faith lives of all Church members.  The bishop agreed to ongoing dialogue .

I live in the same diocese with Bishop Denis for the past 44 years. I have made a submission on the Family Synod through my local parish of Newbridge. I look forward to the dialogue which he promises. Frank Gregg.
