A crowd of almost 300 strong turned out to hear Sr Florence Deacon, President of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in the USA.  The conference has more than 1500 members, who represent more than 80% of the 57,000 women religious in the United States. For further information on the LCWR, click here.

The meeting took place on Monday 13th May in the Jesuit Conference Centre, Milltown Park. The polite American Sister, of Irish heritage, addressed real topics in today’s Catholic Church, including the role of women, Catholic Social teaching and the need to work towards a genuine reform and renewal of the Universal Church through meaningful dialogue.
