Comment on the Prayers of the Faithful from “A Very Appreciative Priest”
Just a quick note to thank you for the excellent prayers of the faithful you produce weekly on your website. I used to write my own and have a large collection of them but I’ve been using the ACI prayers regularly for some time now and find them consistently excellent. They are very well composed, short but with real content. They give expression to issues that are clearly important for your organisation but they, happily, avoid the ‘campaigning’ tone that mar in the attempts of other organisations. Yours remain very much the prayers of the church and the prayers of the faithful.
Several readers and other parishioners have commented on them very positively, again yesterday.
As I said I particularly appreciate the fact that you bring in all the important issues of the day/week/times for prayer without turning it into either the ‘Sunday morning news’ or a kind of overt ‘campaign for change in the church, which is no doubt much needed but this is not really the place to do it. In general terms they have a genuinely prayerful feel to them that is much appreciated.
You are very helpful: you do a wonderful job!
Your prayers of the faithful have been a blessing to the people of Avoca. I use them each week for our liturgies. God bless you for your good work. Fr. Phil Sladicka
Our Prayer Editor has responded to the message from Avoca, Penn. USA.
Thank you for your kind remarks, Fr Phil. We are humbled to be part of your liturgy in your lovely church in the Queen of Apostles Parish in Avoca, Pennsylvania. We have watched some of your Masses on YouTube and you seem to have a lovely community who joyfully join in the communal singing. Also loved the message on your black facemask. God Bless You.
Regards,
