PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

SUNDAY, JUNE 24, 2018

• As we celebrate today the birth of John the Baptist, we pray for the newly baptised in our community that, through the waters of baptism, they receive an abundance of blessings from our Heavenly Father.

• We pray for all parents that they be blessed with the wisdom to nurture their children in the faith and fill their hearts with the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

• We remember in our prayers today those children in our parish who have graduated from our national schools and who will be going into secondary education. We pray that the Holy Spirit bestow on them wisdom, grace, understanding and appreciation of family and friends as they embark on the challenges of their teenage years.

• As we enjoy spells of sunshine and good weather, we pray for the safety of those visiting our beaches and lakes. We pray particularly for our children and for those who have lost loved ones to drowning and on our roads.

• We bow our heads and remember in silence our own personal intentions and the intentions of those who have asked for our prayers.
