The Catholic news site Crux has reported that a social media poll on popular reaction to Pope Francis’ ‘Synodality’ initiative – organised by a Vatican agency – was taken down on July 25th, the same day, after over 80% of respondents were negative about the process.
According to the Crux report on July 27th, the question asked in the Poll (conducted on X – formerly Twitter – and Facebook) was as follows:
“Do you believe that synodality as a path of conversion and reform can enhance the mission and participation of all the baptized?”
Elise Ann Allen, author of the Crux report, writes that the Vatican has not responded to a Crux request for an explanation for the disappearance of the poll.
