ACI Carlow welcome Fr Gerry O’Hanlon to Leighlinbridge Parish Centre on Tuesday the 19th February at 7.45pm for what promises to be a worthwhile meeting. Bishop Denis Nulty from Kildare and Leighlin will attend and his presence adds to the potential of the gathering. ACI Carlow has hosted previous talks and also met with Bishop Denis. The topic of Fr Gerry’s book “A Synodal Catholic Church in Ireland? The Quiet Revolution of Pope Francis” is of vital relevance to all Catholics in Ireland in view of the ongoing crisis facing our Church and the Faith community of All the Baptised. All are welcome.

Oh, Sean and family – things have gotten unbelievably unstable in my region – I’m taking the fossil fuel industry head on in my region, being asked to craft an enviro-economic platform that is ocean supportive.

Wonderful opportunity but so far, the response has been lukewarm in the academic class (school system) but highly supportive in the university cultural and political sciences departments – my ahead of the curve abilities have been well documented in their ilk.

But having that edge is not an asset here when there are so many ready to go to battle with fossil fuel protestors. I’ve been recently identified as one of the worst in Canada based on my association with the petitioning group for the Church (Global Catholic Climate Movement) and the conversations with Sean McDonagh – I called his cell phone and let him have it one day.

I was taught to never be shy within Catholic circles by Sr. Evelyn Healey because of my gifts. When the time was right, it could be revealed that I’m a bit of a magician.
