There should be ‘a more thorough process’ for appointing bishops, to avoid the choosing of those on the ‘inside’.

So insists Pope Francis’s point man on clerical child abuse, Fr Hans Zollner SJ — on reading the devastating McCarrick report on what went so wrong just recently in the USA.

“I have already gotten feedback from survivors who said that they’re very angry when they read this.”
