PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2018

In today’s gospel, Jesus just makes one demand of us – that we should love one another. We pray for the grace to treat family, friend and stranger as we would wish God, our Father, to treat us.

We pray to the Lord                       R. Lord hear our prayer

At this time in Ireland, we pray for an understanding and acceptance that all human life is precious, because it is a most wonderful gift from our God and Father whose love is infinite.

We remember in our prayers today those women who may currently be traumatised by the CervicalCheck crisis.  We pray that,  with the love of family and friends,  they will have the necessary support to carry them through these difficult times.

We pray to the Lord                       R. Lord hear our prayer

We remember in our prayers the children of this parish who will make their First Communion on Saturday next.  We pray that they will be blessed with the grace to understand  the magnificent gift which our Lord and Saviour will bestow on them.

On this Bank Holiday Weekend, we pray for safety and care on our roads, and for all who have been injured on our roads, and for the families of those who have been killed in road accidents.
